Julia's Story
Julia James has been singing and songwriting music since she can remember. James has been playing out independently, alongside her acoustic guitar, and powerful voice as young as fourteen, having over ten years of live performing under her belt, as well as eight years of professional studio recording experience. Her creativity and determination makes her a multi-instrumentalist with experience playing guitar, trumpet, saxophone, piano, violin, and more. Julia started teaching vocal and guitar lessons professionally at 21-years of age. James received her Bachelor's degree in Music (Music Performance - Voice) from UMASS Lowell in the Spring of 2024. She has gone on to teach the youth the importance of vocal health in hopes to create a world where vocal safety education is common knowledge. After transferring from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, where she majored in Songwriting, Julia went on to attend community college, and then the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Growing up, Julia was always in different bands and musical groups, so when she got to college, she became the lead singer and songwriter for the Lowell-based indie-alternative band, Miss Karma. Los Angeles, Boston, and Nashville constantly call her name, and she recorded her first music video, "ego", while in Hollywood, CA, earlier last year with film director Sabrina Lassegue. James is classically trained, as well as has experience singing in multiple genres: such as RnB, classical, opera, pop, rock, alternative, and more. She was nominated for the 8th Annual Limelight Magazine Music Awards as "Young Performer of the Year" as well as performing the national anthem at Gillette Stadium. Julia was in running (top 15) in both the CBS Mixtape Competition, as well as Rolling Stones Top Hitmaker competition in 2024. James has a new single out with fellow artist and friend, T-Cap. The new song, "SEVENTH DAY" is produced by Big Jerm, a Grammy nominated producer who has worked with Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa, and Snoop Dog. Her debut album, october avenue, will be out this Winter. Julia's goal is to help people heal through the creativity of music.
"If my music can light up even one soul, then I am fulfilling my purpose."

"Julia has a great voice and enough presence to fill a stage by herself. She is very humble and is a great team player. She is not only a highly talented and creative woman, but also a lovely human being; she always makes everyone around her, whether it is the audience or her bandmates, to enjoy music and have a great time! We never want her to stop."
